SimphoSOFT® Transition Modules

Simphotek has developed an algorithm of Active Photonics Building Blocks (APBB) in which photo-physical light interaction with matter is described in terms of computational transition modules, which are easy to define in a graphical user interface (GUI) and which link GUI with a mathematical kernel of SimphoSOFT®.

Instead of spending considerable amount of time in developing a new numerical method for solving coupled rate and propagation equations describing light interaction with a particular material, a user only defines electronic transitions and energy levels, as well as defining geometric properties of virtual experimental components. SimphoSOFT® does the rest.

Photophysical phenomena SimphoSOFT® Icons Transition module description

absorption
Transition module [*A**] represents a single (or multi) photon absorption, which excites a molecule (atom, ion) from its any chosen energy level Ns1 to Ns2
relaxation
Transition modules [*R**] represent electron/exciton relaxation (radiative and non-radiative, correspondingly) happening between two chosen states of the same or different states sets (e.g., grouped by multiplicity).
stimulated emission
Transition module [*A-**] represents one or more photons emited during stimulated emission.
energy transfer
Transition module [*B=xB*] represents simultaneous relaxation event in the donor molecule and excitation event in the acceptor molecule due to the energy transfer between molecules m1 and m2.
energy transfer upconversion
Transition module [*B-xB*] represents simultaneous relaxation event in the donor molecule and upconversion event in the acceptor molecule due to the energy transfer between molecules m1 and m2.
upconversion
Transition module [*U**] represenents energy exchange between two identical excited molecules when one is promoted to a higher excited state and the other relaxes.

SimphoSOFT® can be purchased as a single program and can be also configured with Energy Transfer add-on ET add-on, Multi-Beam add-on Multi-beam add-on, Optimization add-on Optimization add-on, Z-scan add-on Z-scan add-on, and MPA Info+ add-on MPA Info+ add-on for an additional charge.
